Walking Through Time
(Still Point Arts Quarterly. December 1, 2022)
Walk with me through the past, the present and the potential future of San Francisco in my latest essay. I amble through the neighborhoods of the city over the course of 30 years. I look back at others, Mark Twain, Dashiel Hammett, the beat poets, who walked along the streets of an earlier incarnation of San Francisco, and I consider the possibilities for a more walkable city of the future.

A city is more than a place in space, it is a drama in time. – Patrick Geddes
